Last Thursday April 24 at 11 am, the UOCRA signed an agreement providing for participation in Plan FinEs [Plan for Primary and High School Completion in youth and adults] powered by the National Ministry of Education. The launching act of Plan FinEs took place in the White Salon of the Government House in the presence of National President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
Among the main objectives the Plan has is that those young and adults who did not complete the compulsory primary and high school can accomplish it. For that purpose it is provided the implementation of specific actions to be adapted to their possibilities and needs, through a joint work of provincial government, municipalities and several community sectors such as trade unions and associations, among others.
The Agreement was signed by National Ministry of Education Lic Juan Carlos Tedesco and Mr. Gerardo Martinez, General Secretary of the Argentine Building Workers Union, the only union organization incorporated to the program so far. Furthermore, the agreement was signed by other affiliated entities such as the provinces of Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Entre Rios though their governors and by Julio Cesar Pereyra, President of the Argentine Federation of Municipalties.
The Plan complies with the responsibilities established by the National Education Act, the Education Financing Act and the Technical and Professional Education Act, and develops educational policies to promote the incorporation of young and adults, in the work environments as well as the social organizations they take part of and try to give answer to more than 14,000,000 of Argentineans who have not finished primary and high school studies yet.
