Bernardo Kosacoff stated his view on the Global Economic Crisis at the General Confederation of Labour (CGT)
Bernardo Kosacoff, prominent economist and Director of the EconomicCommission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), held a conference on the Global Economic Crisis, its Impact and Perspectives for Argentina.
The conference, organized by the CGT Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and ILO’s Buenos Aires, took place at CGT venue in Salón José Ignacio Rucci. Among the most important speakers we found Gerardo Martinez, CGT Foreign Affairs Secretary; Eduardo Rodriguez Calderón, Activities for Workers (ACTRAV) – ILO and Javier González Olaechea, Director of ILO Buenos Aires.
Kosacoff expressed his viewpoint on the features of the present economic crisis and highlighted its effect on our country. As regards, he explained that perspectives for Argentina due to the global crisis impact should be associated with measures that allow protecting employment, promoting industrial activity and creating a social shielding in order to lessen the negative impact of the global economic crisis.
