Agreement with the International Labour Organization (ILO)
DECENT WORK PROGRAMME FOR ARGENTINA 2008 – 2011 START-UP
The Memorandum of Understanding to start up the Decent Work Programme for Argentina 2008 – 2011 has been signed with the presence of Javier Gonzalez Olachea, Director of ILO Office Director for Argentina, Jean Maninat, ILO Regional Director, Dr. Carlos Tomada Minister of Labour and National Social Security, Gerardo Martinez UOCRA General Secretary and Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Argentine Federal Confederation of Labour [CGTRA] and Dr. Daniel Funes de Rioja President of the Argentine Industrial Union [UIA] Social Policies Department.
a. Articulate the national labour policies with those policies that have an impact on employment quantity and quality.
b. Improve job and employment conditions emphasizing the promotion of decent work for youth and local economic development.
c. Contribute to prevention and eradication of child labour. Widen the scope of social protection.
d. Widen the scope of social protection.
e. Strengthen the effective social dialogue in order to promote all decent work dimensions in socio-labour policies.
f. Contribute to informal economy and unemployment reduction.
