The Socio Economic Consultative Forum, Division Argentina held Plenary meeting at UOCRA´s headquarters under the coordination of Mr Gerardo Martínez, as Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Argentine General Confederation of Labour (CGT) on February 13 2008.
The Socio Economic Consultative Forum is composed by the Argentine General Confederation of Labour, the Argentine Industrial Union, the Argentine Workers Central, the Argentine Consumer Association, the Argentine Importers and Exporters Association, the Argentine Assembly of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the Argentine Chamber of Commerce, the Argentinean Chamber of the Building Industry, the Argentine Rural Society and other civil organizations.
The Minister of Labour and National Social Security, Dr Carlos Tomada; special guest for this Plenary meeting who came together with Lic Julio Rosales, Foreign Affairs Director and Dr Gerardo Corres in order to receive the Forum proposal of encouraging The First Meeting of Social Dimension and the Second Regional Conference on Employment before the Mercosur Common Market Group during the Argentine Pro tempore Presidency. In Addition, it is promoted a Conference to celebrate the Ten years of the Socio-labour Declaration to be carried out during the next Brazilian Pro tempore Presidency.
The project, which contains the three subjects developed and deepened in internal debate by the Forum, was submitted to consideration of the Labour Ministry and further presentation before the Mercosur Common Market.

The analysis of the Socio-labour Declaration, as regional regulation on Social and Labour rights.
This initiative is intended to highlight the social dimension, strengthen the regional integration process and also reaffirm the mission of the Socio Economic Consultative Forum as organized civil society representatives during the current pro Tempore presidency of our country.
