Gerardo Martinez, General Secretary of the Argentine Building Workers Union [UOCRA] and Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Argentine Federal Confederation of Labour [CGT] was re-elected as Member of the International Labour Organization Governing Body (ILO) acting as representative of the Latin American workers for the term of office between 2008 and 2011.
{Martinez, who is the head representative of CGT in the ILO Annual Conference taking place at Geneva, was elected President as representative of the different unions that will participate in the tripartite working commissions that will be developed during the current International Conference
Martinez re-election as member of the ILO Governing Body was the result of the votes and consensus of different Central Unions in America in recognition to the productive labour that the Argentine leader is developing from more than three years.
Furthermore, on the 9th of June, Gerardo Martinez will deliver his speech as the CGT representative before the ILO Annual Conference, as well as Dr Funes de Rioja will do the same in representation of the Business sector and for the National Government the Minister of Labour and National Social Security Dr Carlos Tomada will.
