A TECHNOLOGICAL TOOL CREATED BY THE UOCRA THAT CONTRIBUTES TO FORMAL WORK, SPECIALIZATION RESPECT AND IMPROVES THE BUILDING WORKERS´LABOUR STANDARD MAKING BANKING ACCESS EASIER FOR THEM
The Argentine Building Workers Union (UOCRA) announces the launching of the Smart Card “I am a Building Worker”, at the vanguard of technology worldwide in labour registration systems through internet for the building industry which comes to replace the ordinary handbook of Unemployment Fund, becoming a key tool to fight informal or “unregistered” work, besides simplifying labour contracts paperwork procedures and adding several benefits to the building workers.
The Smart Card “I´ am a Building Worker” emerged as UOCRA´s idea and initiative. It is a labour registry card which contains an embedded computer chip that will include all the workers job registry records with the ratified categorization and specialization, training courses taken, work experience being able to store up to fifteen work certifications.
Every worker will have a personal card, identified with his name, CUIL number [Labour Identification Code] and it will be easy to use since by means of a simple card reader and through the internet, the employer will be able to check the job history records stored within the chip card, simplifying labour contract, registration, contributions and procedures related to the labour relations.
This will make workers´ banking access easier and will allow them to access to personal consumption and property credits due to the agreement between banks and companies since workers have the formal certification of work relation and experience.
UOCRA´s initiative means a step forward as regards Protection of Labour rights, Decent Work and Social Justice and contributes to the recognition and strengthening of labour bonds between the building worker and our industry.
