SOCIAL SECURITY ADVICE: HOW DO I GET THE PENSION?

Act number 24,241 establishes that the worker must fulfil these two conditions for entitlement to the benefit: years of contributions and age of admission to retirement.

AGE: (FROM  2001)

>> MEN: 65 years old

>> WOMEN: 60 years old

CONTRIBUTION

>>
In order to meet the contribution requirement you need to have documents to prove them (1). In case you do not have all the records to prove that you have worked for 30 years and made the required contribution, you will be able to produce an affidavit of jobs where you worked before January 1st 1969 (this means: to declare the jobs without any record)
The years to be declared this way are shown in the table that follows:

Year of suspension
affidávit
Year 2000/01
4 Years
Year 2002/03
3 Years
Year 2004/05
2 Years
Year 2006/07
1 Year

(1) Even though the documents required to get the retirement benefit varies, we will highlight essential records to prove building workers years of service and contribution:

Attestation of Services and Payments granted and certified by the employer and the Contribution Book by the Institute of Statistics and Register of the Construction Industry (IERIC), of all the companies you have worked for. For those beneficiaries of the Unemployment Insurance, it is important to keep all the payslips.

If you couldn´t get the required documents, you can show other documents to prove the servicies. Such as: payslips, job certificates, social service card, which can be essential instruments of evidence in those cases that workers can´t  get the attestation of services or the contribution book has been lost.

As previously stated, Act number 24,241 establishes that the worker must fulfil two conditions for entitlement to the benefit: years of contributions and age of admission to retirement, but if the worker is not the age, but has the years of contribution, he/she has the chance to stop contributing, under Decree number 136/97 (protected in case of disability or death)
