At the Funding Convention of the International Trade Union Alliance’s opening session, as a result of the fusion between the Free Convention of the International Trade Union [Spanish acronym CIOSL] and the World Convention of Workers [Spanish acronym CMT], held in the city of Vienna, UOCRA General Secretary and Foreign Affairs CGT General Secretary, Gerardo Martinez was named member of the Executive Board of the new international headquarter for the Argentine Workers Movement.
The Convention, where more than 400 trade unions representing 140 countries took part, started its speech with the first appointments of the new representatives as a starting point of a new process that represents trade union’s unity of workers all around the world.
This new stage that the unified unions are facing world wide, implies to put into new policies and actions to face, as a whole, the defence of the workers rights against the strategies that economic factors in the global world set forth as a challenge for the trade unions. The new alliance declares itself as unitarian and pluralist consolidating action strategies to support in solidarity the decent work conditions in force for the workers all around the world.
